Title audit checklist

Does the title use ALL CAPITAL LETTERS anywhere?

Violation: all caps in titles is explicitly prohibited

Does the title include your seller name or shop name?

Violation: seller names in titles are prohibited

Does the title include words like "best seller", "trending", "#1", or "top rated"?

Violation: subjective superlative claims are prohibited

Does the title include a percentage discount, "sale", or "free shipping"?

Does the title use special characters or numbers to substitute letters (e.g. N!KE, Д pple)?

Violation: character substitution to evade detection is banned

Does the title mention a competitor brand by name?

Violation: comparative brand mentions are prohibited

Does the title include any website URLs or social media handles?

Violation: off-platform redirects are prohibited throughout listings

Does the title include words like "dupe", "replica", "knock-off", or "inspired by"?

Violation: these terms are explicitly prohibited in the listing policy

Does the title use "GLP" or any variation of it?

Violation: GLP references in any product branding or title are banned

Does the title claim the product treats, cures, or prevents any medical condition or disease?

Violation: disease claims require FDA drug classification

Description and claims audit

Does the description include guaranteed results language like "will definitely", "100% proven", "guaranteed to work", or "results in X days"?

Violation: unverified performance claims are prohibited

Does the description include before-and-after comparisons with specific result claims?

Violation: misleading before/after claims are banned — results may vary disclaimers do NOT make them acceptable

Does the description mention or compare your product negatively to a competitor by name?

Violation: malicious comparisons to other products are banned

Does the description include any QR codes, website links, email addresses, or social media handles?

Violation: off-platform redirects are banned throughout listings

Does the description reference "TikTok", "as seen on TikTok", or other platforms like Amazon or Shopify?

Violation: TikTok branding and competitor platform mentions are prohibited without authorisation

Does the description claim the product has won awards or holds certifications you cannot verify with documentation?

Violation: false or unverifiable award and certification claims are explicitly prohibited

Does the description use sympathy to encourage purchases? e.g. "I'm a small business struggling", "every purchase helps my family"?

Violation: sympathy-based selling is explicitly prohibited

Does the description make origin claims like "Made in USA" or "American made" that may not be fully accurate?

Violation: truthful origin claims are required — partial US assembly does not qualify as Made in USA

Does the description include the seller's own name, email, or contact information anywhere?

Violation: seller contact info in descriptions is prohibited

Does the description claim the product treats, cures, heals, or prevents any named disease or medical condition?

Violation: disease treatment claims require FDA drug classification — these are drug claims, not cosmetic claims

Does the description make weight loss, fat burning, or fat reduction claims?

Violation: weight management claims are strictly prohibited unless the product has completed TikTok's weight management category qualification

Does the description include ingredient claims you cannot verify are accurate for your specific product formulation?

Violation: inaccurate ingredient claims are explicitly prohibited — only list ingredients you can confirm are present

Image and media audit

Is the main product image NOT on a pure white background, or does it include text, logos, watermarks, or graphic overlays?

Violation: main image must be clean white background only — lifestyle shots, coloured backgrounds, and overlaid text are not permitted

Do any product images include text overlays, promotional banners, or discount percentages?

Violation: text and graphics over product images are banned

Do any product images include watermarks or logos from other brands, photographers, or platforms?

Violation: watermarks and third-party logos violate intellectual property rules

Do any product images show before-and-after comparisons with unrealistic or filter-enhanced results?

Violation: misleading before/after images are explicitly listed as prohibited in the listing policy

Are any of your product images black and white?

Violation: all images must be in colour

Are any of your product images below 600x600 pixels?

Violation: minimum image resolution is 600x600

Do multiple images show the same angle of the product?

Violation: all additional images must show different angles — duplicate angle images are not allowed

Do any images include explicit, suggestive, or sexual content?

Violation: explicit and suggestive imagery is prohibited across all categories

Brand, IP, and duplicates

If reselling a third-party brand: do you have written brand authorisation from the brand owner?

Violation: listing branded products without authorisation is a serious IP violation — TikTok will freeze the product and require brand auth documentation

Does any image, description, or title use the name, image, or likeness of a real person for commercial purposes without their permission?

Violation: using another person's name or likeness for commercial purposes without approval is prohibited

Does this product already have an active listing in your shop?

Violation: creating duplicate listings for the same product is explicitly prohibited — all variations must be on one listing

Are you creating this listing by repurposing an old listing for a completely different product?

Violation: repurposing existing listings to represent different products is a named prohibited behaviour

Is this product sold to customers in California and does it contain chemicals on the California Proposition 65 list?

Required: if yes, the Prop 65 warning must be displayed on the product detail page

Listing structure quality check

Does the description include all required product information where applicable: dimensions/measurements, ingredients (if consumable), country of origin, and required safety warnings?

Required: legally required product information must appear in the description

Does the description include accurate "what's in the box" information specifying everything the customer will receive?

Required: contents of each order must be clearly detailed in the listing

Is the product listed in the most accurate category available — not a broader or unrelated category chosen to gain visibility?

Violation: listing in incorrect categories impacts Shop Health score
